Looking for a Record Deal Vs Distribution:
If you are a band or a singer/songwriter looking to be "signed" for a record deal you should approach a publisher or a record label directly.
If you wish to control your own interests and budgets, and you have the capacity to handle your own recording, manufacturing, marketing, PR and advertising, then you should contact us for a distribution deal.
RMG Chart's Function:
RMG Chart's business is to distribute new release and catalogue re-orders to a network of retail clients across Ireland. Our business is generally limited to the storage, sales, picking, packing, physical distribution and retail marketing* of your releases.
*Please note that our involvement with marketing is, in most cases, associated with retail marketing i.e. working with retailers to assist in the Point-Of-Sale promotion of your releases. You are responsible for all other marketing.
Label's Function:
Labels manage their own recording, manufacturing, marketing, PR and advertising. In short, as the record label for your own releases, you create the demand for your product, and we supply that demand.
What We Look for in a Label:
We are looking to distribute labels that will be of interest to the retail clients that we supply. As we receive so many enquiries about distribution, we have to select those which will be most appropriate for our client base. The criteria we will consider are:
- Profile of your label / artist / releases.
- Public and Retail's perception of your label / artist / releases.
- Repertoire / Back Catalogue available.
- Potential for growth.
- Professional experience and knowledge of the market.
- Label Resources (staff / marketing / promotional etc.).
- Label's expectations.
